The Adult Bands of the
Red Deer Community Band Society
Did you put your kids through band and now it’s your turn?
or are your kids in school band and you want to learn along with them? or have you just always wanted to play in a band but never had the opportunity? Well . . . . maybe Community Band is for you! Join the other 100 adults in our community who have become members of our bands. (Believe it or not, community bands have been a continuous presence in Red Deer for the past 105 years!!) Red Deer's adult community concert bands are about to start up for the year and we have a band for everyone! Study after study has pointed to the personal benefits of active involvement in one of the fine or performing arts. Make it a personal goal to further round out your life by joining one of the community bands in Red Deer – and have a blast doing it! Community band is about making great music in a relaxed, non-threatening and fun atmosphere. If you’re not sure which band will suit you best, try a couple of bands out for a few weeks. There are no auditions or try-outs for our adult bands – you just play where you’re most comfortable! For more information on any of these groups, please call Michael Mann, Director of Bands for the Red Deer Community Band Society, at 346-3911 (evenings and weekends). All out for Band, and bring - or meet - a friend!! |
